Infertility (IF) has been described as a culturally stigmatizing and invisible disease. The public is invited to Reimagining Reproduction, an innovative and emotionally provoking art exhibit portraying the realities, pains and joys of living with IF. Curated by The ART of Infertility, this exhibit breaks the silence around reproductive grief and pushes back against common misconceptions. Come witness the silenced stories of how modern families are built, told through art.
Entitled “Reimagining Reproduction: The ART of Infertility in Los Angeles,” the exhibit will feature infertility-inspired artwork curated from original works created by Californians and from The ART of Infertility’s permanent collection. June is also Men’s Health Month. This innovative exhibit highlights the perspectives of men and their partners trying to build their families, despite reproductive obstacles. Programming for the exhibit includes a film screening at 3:00 pm of One More Shot, followed by a panel on making modern families. The exhibit officially opens at 5:30 pm on June 9, immediately following the film screening. A live recording of the Waiting for Babies will take place during the opening beginning at 7:00 pm. A series of art-making stations will be scattered throughout the opening of the exhibit. The exhibit is open to the public from June 9 – 30, 2018.
