“This year, Zambezi held a silent art auction called Craft Services to raise money for local charity 826LA. The idea for Craft was simple: tap into the artistic talents both inside Zambezi’s walls and within the larger Los Angeles community and mobilize them to create handmade goods for good. Friends of Zambezi and folks within the local community had the opportunity to bid on them throughout the evening.
100% of the proceeds went directly to 826LA. 826, the brainchild of author Dave Eggers, is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students with their writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write and express their creativity. They provide after-school tutoring, evening and weekend workshops, in-school tutoring for English language and assistance with student publications. http://826LA.org
