05.09.13 WAVE Awards for Teaching Excellence. Hosted by the Venice Chamber of Commerce Education Committee
About the WAVE awards: The Wave Awards were launched in 2011 by the Venice Chamber of Commerce Education Committee to acknowledge the enormous contribution teachers make everyday to the children of Venice and the surrounding areas. Teachers are nominated and selected by their peers for excellence and recognized at an awards dinner, where they are introduced by their Principal or a fellow teacher and presented with a plaque and a gift bag with donations from local sponsoring businesses.
2013 WAVE Highlights: The Venice Chamber of Commerce Education Committees 3rd Annual Wave Awards celebrating teachers, recognized and elected by their peers for their outstanding achievements in and beyond the classroom.

About the Education Committee- Connecting Community, Education, and Business: The Education Committee seeks to be our community’s forum for education, and the bridge between local businesses and educators. Its primary goal is to foster a high-quality education and dynamic learning environments for the children of Venice, thereby helping to fulfill Abbot Kinney’s original vision for Venice as a Mecca for culture, the arts, and education. The committee’s secondary goal is to encourage local children of all backgrounds and socio-economic levels to be educated together. In June 2011, the Venice Chamber established the inaugural WaVe Awards honoring local teachers, selected by their peers, who creatively engage their students and contribute to the vitality of our community. vcceducationcommittee.org
