Venice Paparazzi checked out the Beachhead’s 41st Anniversary party at Beyond Baroque on Sunday, December 6th. Free Venice Beachhead is Venice’s local newspaper that offers archive and neighborhood information. For more information, visit http://www.freevenice.org.

Here is a message from Beachhead reporter Jim Smith. “It was a great event from our point of view, with a lively audience that really responded all four of us. Hillary Kaye, Krista Schimmer and I read our own poems. Karl read from the works of Stuart Perkoff, a Venice Beat poet who is widely admired in poetry and Beat circles. Karl’s performance had people cheering. Suzy Williams sang a new song.about the Beachhead, composed by her and Carol Fondiller. Several new poets read during the Open Mic session. We look forward to publishing them in the paper. It was an evening of much love for the Beachhead, and for poetry.”- Jim Smith.
