Muscletech Supplements and Joe Wheatley Productions hosted the Muscle Beach International Classic bodybuilding, figure, and bikini contests on Monday, May 31st, 2010. This event was open to all amateur athletes. Also taking place that day at Muscle Beach Gym was the “Battle of the Branches” Armed Forces Bodybuilding Championship, which is open to all active, reserve, National Guard, and retired armed forces personnel.
As usual the prejudging for both competitions started at 10 a.m. and the finals at 1 p.m. To start the finals off with a bang, a C-17 Flyover from March Air Force Base flew over Muscle Beach and Gym. The ground shook and the crowd went naked. LOL. It was seriously exciting.
Additional highlights of the event include a guest appearance and award ceremony for Joe Weider, the father of Bodybulding, and plaques were awarded to Muscle Beach Venice Hall of Fame inductees, Ed Fury, Mr. Venice Beach 1951; and Bill Smith, actor/bodybuilder on such TV shows as “Rich Man Poor Man. Opps, I almost forgot the vendors and free give aways.
Brenda Kelley gave away free tees at the Bodybuilding.com tent, nutrition advice and samples at L.A. Urban Nutrition tent, push up contest at the National Guard area, test your grip competition at the Liquid Grip booth, and more. Lastly, I have to give a big shout out to our only local Venice competitor, Jill Rudison, who successfully won 4 trophies in one weekend. Yeah Jill, you looked absolutely stunning in your blue bikini! Also, congrats to everyone else in the competition. Your beautifully tanned bodies and welcoming smiles were a pleasure to shoot.
Enjoy your photos and see you at the next Muscle Beach event.
