On Saturday, August 21st, Maureen Cotter made her 6th appearance at Beyond Baroque. She has been working on her first book, Prison Stories, for the past 3 years. Everyone had a wonderful evening of music and story telling about what it is like to be in a female prison in 1969. Local musicians, Greg Cruz, Wolf Mauz, and Petr Hrodmadko opened the show with Folsom Prison Blues. The wonderful Susy Williams opened the second half of the show singing an original song she wrote,” Let’s All Go To Prison,” which proved to be a big hit with the sold out audience. The show was projected up on the Venice Fire Department wall for people who wanted to sit outside. The Shoo Flies played for the after party. Maureen Cotter would like to thank the Venice Arts Council, Venice Paparazzi and all who attended for supporting my work.
