About:   Paddle Tennis is a game that looks like a cross between ping-pong and tennis. The court looks like a scaled down tennis court and the rules are the same as tennis as well. The racquets resemble large ping pong paddles. It is a great social game. Several tournaments are held at our local courts throughout the year and local resident Scott Freedman has been considered one of the World’s best for over two decades. Come on down and play!  This is something you have to do at least once while visiting Venice.

The newly formed team of Scotty Freedman and Kent Seton the #1 and #2 Ranked Professionals in the World respectively teamed together last week to win The Venice beach Paddle Tennis Championships at the Venice Beach Paddle Tennis Recreational Facility in Venice Breach, CA

The Venice Beach Paddle Tennis Tournament is widely regarded as one of the toughest and best Paddle Tennis tournaments in the World to win because the Venice Beach Paddle Tennis recreational Facility is where most of the Top Professional Players live and practice their games year round. The tournament usually draws 15 out of the top 20 Ranked Pros in the World and is considered the Players Championship.

After winning the Tournament Freedman was interviewed by Venice Paparazzi Founder Edizen Stowell and she asked Freedman what is it about this particular tournament that brings out some of the best Paddle Tennis of the year and Freedman responded “If you win this particular tournament you are really forced to EARN IT! Because most of the top pros play in this event and you never have an easy match so that why i call it the Pros tournament! so if you are lucky enough to win it that why”

The new duo of Scotty Freedman and Kent Seton have now teamed up together 9 times since both players had other partners and had competed against each other in almost every final championship match before they teamed up to create the new partnership.

Freedman’s and old partner Sol Hauptman were the #1 Ranked team in the World until Hauptman retired and now Freedman and Seton are the new #1 Ranked Paddle Tennis team in the World and have NOT lost a tournament since there teaming up began.

Freedman and Seton defeated Seton’s ex partner Daryl Lemon and Top ranked pro Doug Kolker the #3 and #4 Ranked players in the World respectively in a very heated and intense contest 6-3, 6-2 it is very rare that the best 4 players in the World get a chance to play against each other in the Championship of a tournament because there are so many variables with tournaments i.e. injuries, unlucky losses, etc…
