Venice, have you watched HBO’s television Series “Eastbound & Down?” Alex and I watched the Season One DVD, the night after attending the K-Swiss and HBO’s Eastbound and Down event at Muscle beach on Thursday, August 12th. Extremely funny, I can’t wait for September 26th, when season two premieres. Anyway, back to the Thursday, August 12th event. Power rock, power drinks, and muscle flexing. On Thursday night, K-Swiss and HBO’s Eastbound & Down cohorts celebrated all things Kenny Powers, the slightly delusional ex-professional baseball player who still summons personal illusions of grandeur. Taking over Muscle Beach in Venice, CA, funny guys Craig Robinson of The Office, John Hawkes, Steve Little, and Efren Ramirez of Eastbound & Down brought out their inner Powers at the K-Swiss Tubes Super Big Ass Muscle Party, the official launch of Kenny Powers as the face of K-Swiss Tubes ad campaign . Other guests included British actor James Frain, who played True Blood’s delusional vampire Franklin Mott, along with castmate Natasha Alam (aka Yvetta). And where there are vampires, there will be werewolves. Team Jacob’s Booboo Stewart, who plays werewolf Seth Clearwater in the Twilight series came through to flex. Also in attendance was Modern Family’s Reid Ewing, MTV’s The Hard Times of RJ Berger Amber Lancaster and Jayson Blair and top-ranked MMA fighter Urijah Faber, who no one would challenge to a chin-up competition.
