On Friday Dec. 4 2015, the Venetians came out to celebrate the holiday season at the 4th annual Venice Sign holiday lighting block party on Windward Ave. The event was hosted by the Venice Chamber of Commerce and included live music, a children’s poster contest, an awards presentation and the unveiling of the Venice sign with red and green bulbs. It was a joyous occasion with great turn out of spirited revelers enthused by the holiday season.

About the Venice Sign: The legendary Abbot Kinney introduced the world to Venice in 1905 on the 4th of July. Spanning across Windward Avenue at Pacific (then Trolley Way), 3-foot high letters spelling VENICE glowed to electric life! It is a defining symbol of Venice, past and present. In 2007, the Venice Sign Restoration Project recreated and installed the contemporary version of this historic sign. Since that time the Venice Chamber has been responsible for the sign and for protecting its trademark. Click here for more info on the Venice Sign!
