On July 10, 2010 the Windward Plaza was home to the 2011 Venice Eco-fest. The festivities started at 10:00 a.m. and included: · a Solar Powered Sound Stage · Artists from the Venice and LA area. · Interactive Art Zone/Creative Play Area · Over 150 exciting Eco-Exhibitors with important planet preservation tips. · Kid’s and Family Court with exotic animals, and interactive art and music shenanigans. · The One Planet Parade – A wild wacky and wonderful extravaganza! · Delicious Vegetarian Food Court · Venice Cooperative Art Exhibit · Recycling for SMALL e-waste: Cell Phones & Accessories, Cell Phone Batteries, Laptop Batteries · Filtered Water Stations – BYO reusable water bottle or cup! · Green Outposts for recycling/waste/and compost. Lastly, this festival was powered by the Sun and Biodiesel!! Way to go Stephen Fiske for producing a killer event.
