Recent event covered: Venice Paparazzi stopped by the “We are Venice” event at the Venice Boys and Girls Club on Lincoln Blvd on Wednesday, January 19th, 2011.
Event Description: The Boys & Girls Club of Venice truly believes that GREAT FUTUTRES START HERE! In 2011, we plan to continue our rich tradition and history of serving children and families in Venice and neighboring communities. The support and guidance that we provide young people is evident in the spirit of our members, and their love for the Club. From the youngest members to our teens and alums, the Club has been a consistent guiding light in their development as productive and caring citizens.
On Wednesday, January 19, the Club hosted a special event titled, “We Are Venice” which will highlighted several areas of the Club. Specifically, our 2011 Youth of the Year candidate public speeches as a part of the Youth of the Year judging process, and judging for the national fine arts competition. We want to thank everyone who was a part of this special night and actively participated in the “open mic” community town hall to talk about the issues facing youth development and the community, as well as the successes and opportunities moving forward.
The Venice Boys and Girls Club’s Mission Statement: To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
OUR CLUB PROVIDES:
A safe place to learn and grow…
Ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals…
Life-enhancing programs and character development experiences…
Hope and opportunity…
