PROJECT TWO:

Venice Art Crawl Birthday Sing-A-Long Flash Mob: Sweet and Treat, Venice Paparazzi, Venice Art Crawl, Jackson Market and Deli, and Whole Foods teamed up to bring a “Birthday Flash Mob” to 23 VAC pop-up galleries.   23 of the VAC main pop-ups had their own very own birthday cake for the art crawlers to enjoy. At 9:00 p.m. sharp all participating venues had a “flash mob,” happy birthday sing a long.   It  was like a New Year’s Eve Party with the ball dropping at 12 midnight.  Way to go Venice!  Your  voices were heard throughout Venice that night!  Thanks to Whole Foods Venice for providing the ingredients,  and Sweet and Treat’s Andrea Tan for baking and decorating for two full days. Check out the photos below.

PROJECT THREE:

Venice Paparazzi was pleased to present “Speaker’s Corner,”a topic driven free speech outlet at Hotel Erwin that night as well. We  partnered  up with Ross Alexander Wilson’s “Skate Car” to bring you and evening of intellectual stimulation.  Stay tuned for the videos.  Check out the photos below.

ABOUT THE SKATE CAR:

Company overview: Began in 2004 as a summer fun car project, “the skate car” was an idea for turning an ordinary car into something we could skateboard on.
Description:  Bought in 2005 from Saint Jason Alexander, for a bit of cash and a complete deck, the 5 speed, 1989 Toyota Camry with 160k miles, became our vehicle and “The Skate Car” began. Building began immediately by Welding the doors shut, cutting the roof off and welding a grinding ledge on the front bumper and a metal rail over the trunk (like a spoiler) for boardslides and grinds.
Mission: Skateboarding on The Skate Car, going to Skate events, giving people rides, and having much much fun in the sun!
The Skate Car owner Ross Alexander Wilson.  Ross Alexaner Wilson is also the founder of RAW photography.  Check out his work here.  http://www.rossalexanderwilson.com/

VENICE ART CRAWL INFORMATION:

WHAT: Over 100 artists have featured work in this visual exploration of one of Los Angeles’ most eclectic neighborhoods.

ABOUT THE VENICE ART CRAWL: True to Venice character, this is not your average art show! This crawl is a product of the artists, not a commercial venture, so the local talent is not only involved, but roaming the streets enjoying the scene with all of you. Many artists take this time to create new murals or artwork live, and past crawls have been full of book signings, spoken word performances, live body art exhibits and plenty of DJ’d shows for visitors to enjoy.

WHEN:  EVERY THIRD THURSDAY IN VENICE IS THE VENICE ART CRAWL.
Officially from 6-10 p.m., but come on. It’s Venice, we’ll have events staying busy til the late hours.

WHERE: Along a mile-long stretch of beachside property, between Venice Blvd. and Rose Ave. from Oceanfront Walk to Main Street.

WHAT ELSE: It’s a free event.

The Venice Art Crawl is 100 percent volunteer produced and we wouldn’t be anything without you! So thanks and enjoy our shows!

As always, more information about Venice Art Crawl can be found at www.veniceartcrawl.com. Also, join our fan page Venice Art Crawl on Facebook, where you can get updates on events and find out about other happenings in the area!
