Check out Venice Afterburn, an official Regional Burning Man event Sept. 21-23.

Whether you are fresh of the playa and just can’t get enough, or did not make it to Black Rock this year and wish you had, you are in luck!  The Venice Afterburn is coming Sept. 21-23, 2018 to Venice, California!

WHAT IS THE VENICE AFTERBURN?
The Venice Afterburn is an official Regional Burning Man event that takes place every year in September in Venice Beach, California. It celebrates art and community, with big scale installations, interactive art, music, performances and healing arts. We invite everyone, burner or not, and we embrace self expression and radical inclusion in the effort to extend the Burning Man spirit and culture beyond the playa and back to the ‘default world.’   Therefore, we like to keep the event free of charge to include everyone. This means that the whole production budget needs to be raised before the Afterburn through fundraising events and a gofundme campaign.

THE VENICE AFTERBURN NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!

WHY ARE WE RAISING FUNDS?  Being a Burning Man event it follows the principle of ‘decommodification’, that means we do not accept any kind of sponsorships, in fact the Venice Afterburn is a sponsor free event. This keeps the event genuine and focused on art and community, at the same time making it more challenging to raise the funds needed. We do embrace and are extremely grateful for any donation, big or small.
.
HOW WILL THE FUNDS BE USED . The funds are needed for: Recs and Parks permit fees; port-o-potties; power; security; fire permit fees; and all other logistics involved in producing such a large event.
.
WHAT’S NEW?  This year, the Venice Afterburn is adding a THIRD day, Sunday the 23rd, which will offer a daytime celebration of all healing arts (sound healing, yoga, meditation etc) and unplugged music, as well as workshops and talks on environment and community oriented topics.
