IT’S YOUR VENICE- GET INVOLVED. VENICE NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL ELECTIONS WILL BE ON APRIL 11TH.
On Sunday, January 17th, the Venice Neighborhood Council held a meeting for those interested in running for a council position. The goal was to help candidates understand the Los Angeles city election process and VNC campaign rules. The meeting took place at the Electric Lodge, 1416 Electric Ave in Venice, at 5:00pm. Attendance was free and was open to everyone. LA City Council Member Bill Rosendahl made an appearance and presented his relationship with the Neighborhood Council, and its role in city government. Current VNC board members, such as current president Mike Newhouse and vice president Linda Lucks were also on hand to talk about the responsibilities of their positions. The election process was also reviewed so potential candidates could find out what they need to do to run for office. It was a great event, with homemade cookies, chips, salsa, wine, and motivated individuals who are interested in bettering the Venice community. It’s YOUR Venice – get involved!
