This month’s Venice Chamber of Commerce mixer at the Canal Club was a huge success.   There was sushi, drinks, turkey tacos, brie and grape quesadillas, raffle prizes, and more.  It was a great place to network with local businesses and entrepreneurs, and to find out what’s going on in the community.

About: The Venice Chamber of Commerce is a vital organization of local business leaders. Their goals are to promote and protect the local business community, to enhance the image of Venice and to stimulate networking among members … resulting in growth opportunities for all.   They  believe that everyone in Venice should have a voice in making Venice a better place to work and live.  They offer a timely communications network among our members, government officials, and the general public. Everyone is welcome at our networking mixers held on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 6 -8 PM. The mixers are hosted by different members to highlight their establishments. They have an effective email communications system, a business directory and a monthly newsletter “The Wave.”   They continue to upgrade our web site so that it meets the needs of our members and community.  For more info, visit,  www.venicechamber.net.

About the Canal Club:

Canal Club is the neighborhood restaurant for artistic and eclectic Venice Beach, featuring Latin and Asian cuisine including sushi and a daily happy hour considered as one of the best in Los Angeles. Canal Club’s interior is as exciting as its food, with works by numerous Venice artists recreating a tropical beach in the restaurant, complete with a Tahitian stilt house, a 20′ bronze wave breaking over a reef, stained glass depictions of sea life and a illuminated marble wall representing an ocean sunset.

Canal Club has been called “one of the most exciting restaurants in Los Angeles”.  This eclectic neighborhood restaurant was named the Canal club due to the clubby feeling of the Venice neighborhood and that it is situated a block away from the Venice Canals.

The interior features work by numerous Venice artists whose intent was to interpret the Venice California beach experience in art and design.  Design elements include a Lagoon Lounge with a steel wave wall, fish shaped tables and a lit sunset marble wall and priveate 2nd floor dining room inspired by the Venice Pier.  The exciting decor creates a creative atomosphere geared to the artistic Venice Community.

The equally unique and eclectic menu offers something for everyone and was designed to please the varied tastes of the Venice neighbors and visitors.  The menu is a broad definition of Pacific Rim Cuisine; food from California, Asia and Mexico.  The dishes are prepared at both the large 21-seat sushi bar and on the open wood grill and rotisserie in the kitchen.
