Joe Wheatley Productions hosted their first Muscle Beach Hot dog eating competition at Muscle Beach Gym on September 6th, 2010. This event was sponsored by Bodybuilding.com, Big City Reds Hot Dogs and Big Daddy and Sons. The winner of the event was Furious Pete Czerwinski and 2nd place was Sumo wrestler Dan Kalbfleisch (http://www.sumodan.com/). About the winner: In the Winter of 2002 Pete was hospitalized with anorexia. To overcame that illness he entered into competitive eating. Here is a quote that I took off his website. “I want to be the best at what I do. I want to be the best competitive eater in the world, but I want to inspire those who have struggled with eating disorders as well.” Click on the following link to view his story http://furiouspete.com/?page_id=2. Cool. After watching this event, I had a craving for hot dogs. So I wandered over to the Big City Red’s tent and got myself a plump hot dog and covered it with relish, mustard and ketchup. It was quite yummy and it brought me back to being a kid. Till next year! For more info, visit..http://www.musclebeachvenice.com.
