A message from Venice Art Crawl President Sunny Bak!

On Thursday, Oct. 17th,  the Venice Art Crawl (VAC) community gathered at the iconic Lantern House in Venice for a night of celebration, creativity, and kindness at our Anniversary Fundraiser. With the perfect blend of art, performances, and community spirit, the event marked a milestone for the organization as we continue our mission to support and uplift local artists.

The Venice Eclectic theme was in full effect, showcasing the diverse and artistic spirit that makes Venice so unique. Starting with Grammophone DJ Wynd outside the event in a Model T under the  Hunter’s Moon.  Inside there was the guitar string  by the talented Michael Jost and his world musician friend and Arielle Selvage. Theresa Holiday was a vision in gold from head to toe with lights and complete with antlers. A mermaid, clown Tori Rose and a poetic interlude by James Berkowitz  all added a whimsical touch to the evening’s festivities.

A highlight of the night was the special recognition of our dedicated volunteers, presented by Supervisor Lindsey Horvath and representatives from the office of Councilperson Traci Park. Their acknowledgment of the volunteers’ hard work and dedication was a powerful reminder of the importance of community in the success of the Venice Art Crawl.

The event also featured a raffle and silent auction with some incredible prizes, including tickets to Cirque du Soleil, Pacific Resident Theatre, as well as artwork from renowned local artists  MB Boissonnault, Sandra Zebi, Sunny Bak, Pirate of Venice and David Stine.

The generosity of those who donated and participated in the raffle and auction was overwhelming, and the funds raised will go to supporting VAC’s future programming.

The theme of Kindness was woven throughout the evening with a spectular plant based buffet by Karen La Cava reminding us of the collective power of community and creativity. The Lantern House proved to be the perfect venue for this unforgettable celebration of the arts in Venice.

With the success of this event, the Venice Art Crawl looks forward to another year of inspiring creativity, connecting artists, and engaging the Venice community. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, donated, and supported this event—thank you for helping us continue our mission of bringing art to the streets of Venice.
