Boarding for Breast Cancer Announces 17th Annual Skate the Coast Presented by LivOnLabs 

The push for prevention will raise funds for B4BC’s education, prevention, and survivorship programs during Breast Cancer Awareness Month 
(Los Angeles, Calif.) – Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) is thrilled to announce the 17th Annual Skate the Coast presented by   LivOn Labs, taking place October 26-27th in Los Angeles, CA. Skate the Coast is a 15-mile (or six-mile) skate-bike-roll along the iconic Southern California strand, kicking off at the Santa Monica Pier and crossing the finish line at Dive N Surf in Redondo Beach. B4BC invites participants of all ages, abilities, and wheels to join the nonprofit in this push for prevention, with a fundraising goal of $75,000. All funds raised will benefit B4BC’s education, prevention and survivorship programs.

October 26th Registration Party 

Skate the Coast weekend will kick off with a registration party on Saturday, October 26th at Firestone Walker Taproom in Venice, CA. Participants and community members are invited to drop by starting at 3 pm to sign their waivers, grab a goodie bag, and enjoy live music. DJ Morales will be taking the stage at 4 pm, Flora Madrigal at 5:15 pm followed by a raffle at 6 pm. To close out the night, The Lamones will be performing starting at 6:45 pm, with a raffle at 6:55 pm and a silent auction at 7:30 pm. The celebration will end at 8 pm ahead of Skate the Coast the next day.

October 27th Skate-Bike-Roll 

Skate the Coast will begin bright and early Sunday morning at Santa Monica Pier. At 9:30 am, the 15-mile skate-bike-roll will take off as participants cruise down the coast, with hydration stops where skate-bike-rollers can refuel at Arbor Venice at 10:00 am, Marina Del Rey at 10:30 am, Dockweiler State Beach at 11:30 am where additional participants can drop in for the last six miles, and Hermosa Beach at 12:30 pm before crossing the finish line at Dive N Surf in Redondo Beach for awards and a finish line celebration. The finish line party will include live music from local legend Moi of Tomorrows Bad Seeds, food, adult beverages, raffle prizes and a silent auction.

To register, interested participants and parties must fundraise a minimum of $50 with partner prizes awarded to the top three fundraisers for both individuals and teams. Registration will include an event tee, goodie bag, and raffle tickets. Registrants earn an extra 10 raffle tickets for every $100 raised, with Yeti Drinkware awarded to those who raise $150+. For those who are unable to join Skate the Coast in person, a virtual participation option is available!  To participate virtually, supporters simply register, cruise their local path or trail, and post to social media with the tags @b4bc and #skatethecoast. Tee shirts will be mailed directly and virtual raffle tickets will be awarded for every $10 fundraised. Virtual participants will also be entered in a photo contest, with the winner chosen on Monday, October 28th!
