“Building a Resilient Venice” with the Venice Community Resiliency Committee!
- Find out what to do when the shaking stops
- Where to go in a tsunami scenario
- Be prepared at home and work
Here is a message from the Venice Community Resiliency Committee!
In 2022, the Venice Community Resiliency Committee (VCRC) is ready to build on what we accomplished in 2021! We will kick off with a virtual Town Hall Wednesday, February 23rd, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The “Building a Resilient Venice” Town Hall will give Venetians the opportunity to meet Venice’s preparedness pros and ask them all their burning questions!
–We are very excited to have L.A. Emergency Management Dept.’s new West Bureau Preparedness Chief, Crisanta Gonzalez, to go over measures currently being taken by the City to keep Venice prepared in declared emergencies.
–Our partners at the Neighborhood Team Program will speak on Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) and how to participate in their skills and community-building exercises.
–Additional speakers, including the Deputy Chief of the LAFD, Armando Hogan, LAFD Disaster Preparedness Officer, Capt. Rico Gross, and Red Cross Los Angeles will also join this February’s Town Hall!
We, the VCRC, will be moderating the event. Everyone in attendance will have access to the tools presented in the Ready Your Los Angeles Neighborhood (RYLAN) program and have a chance to ask questions during a Q&A. There will also be an opportunity to learn more about the VCRC and how to get involved in your Venice!
