A message from City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks’ Superintendent of Venice Beach and West Region Sonya Young Jimenez

Hello Venice Team,

I want to inform you about an upcoming Community Meeting on Thursday, March 13th, at Westchester Recreation Center (7000 Manchester Ave., 90045) from 6 PM to 8 PM.   The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks (RAP) is conducting a Park Needs Assessment to evaluate and enhance our parks and recreation facilities.

This assessment is essential in ensuring our parks meet the needs of residents for years to come by expanding spaces for recreation, exercise, and community engagement. Please help spread the word and encourage community participation.

Additionally, there are both short and long surveys available to provide input. You can access the survey at: https://needs.parks.lacity.gov

The City of Los Angeles is excited to begin work on updating its Park Needs Assessment for the first time since 2009. The Park Needs Assessment will be a roadmap to just and fair capital investment in parks and recreation and equitable connections to quality parks and recreation, to meet current and future needs of residents!
