Venice Chamber of Commerce and Venice High School Alumni Association Honor Venice High’s Top Scholars.
Since 1984, Venice High School along with community partners, hosts an annual luncheon where the top students of the senior class are recognized for their scholastic achievements with each one awarded a personalized academic jacket for their accomplishments.
The Venice Chamber of Commerce and the Venice High School Alumni Association enthusiastically support continuing this tradition of honoring excellence in education and we reach out to the community to help us raise money for the jackets.
We invite you to sponsor one or more jackets, or support this event by making a donation. Sponsors receive recognition in event materials and also have the opportunity to attend the luncheon where they can meet the students.
For the Class of 2025, the Venice Chamber is excited to introduce a scholarship component to this program. Eligible students will have the chance to apply and compete for scholarship awards of $1,000, $500, or $250, which will be presented during the ceremony.

WHAT IS “JACKETS OF EXCELLENCE”
- Attended Venice High School or Venice Magnet programs two of the three years, of 9th, 10th, or 11th grade.
- Student cannot have received more then three Unsatisfactory marks on combined final grades report between 9th and 11th grade.
- Student must have an overall GPA of 3.75 Los Angeles Unified School District unweighted or higher at VHS. For Class of 2027 and beyond, the GPA requirement will be 3.8 unweighted.
- Student cannot have more than 7 total absences per year at VHS.
- Meet/Exceed on ELA and Math 11th Grade State SBA Tests
