Venice Arts is excited to celebrate the release of Dotan Saguy’s latest monograph DOGTOWN: The Pups of Venice Beach!
Venice Arts will be exhibiting photographs from DOGTOWN, a documentation of the lively and humanistic essence of the dogs of Venice Beach, California. Once known for its population of rebellious surfers and skate boarders in the 1960s and 70s—today, it is the dogs of all breeds and social statuses that have taken over—many of whom have adopted Dogtown’s iconic skateboarding culture.
Published by Kehrer Verlag, DOGTOWN is Saguy’s third monograph, continuing his exploration of vibrant street life and subcultures. The monograph and select prints will be available for sale during the opening of Venice Arts’ Gallery exhibition.
The artist is donating a percentage of all sales from the opening to support Venice Arts’ free photography programs for low-income young people!
