Our dear friends at Modo are rolling up the mats and leaving Venice.  Sad news for Modies!

Venice Paparazzi has been members of Modo Yoga since Feb. 2019.  We will miss the teachers, the hot room, and the beautiful Modo Yoga LA community.  The Venice location will close on Sept. 18, 2024.Their two other locations in Echo Park and La Brea will remain open.  To Emily and Alice, thank you for hosting this incredible space for the Venice community. Here is a message from founders Emily Morwen and and Alice Toyonaga

Dearest Modo Venice Family – There is no easy way to begin this message. Our Venice Studio will be closing. Even though we have been acting in good faith, paying back rent ahead of the agreed upon schedule, in what we thought was a graceful road to recovery post-COVID, our landlord has decided to take back the building and is forcing us out of our lease years early. We have negotiated and fought hard, but, sadly, there is nothing more we can do to stay in our Venice space. We are heartbroken and upset beyond belief.⁠

The vision and build out for this studio was a labor of love. To the teachers who pour their hearts into the space, to the staff who run the studio as if it were their own, to the EEs who dedicate hours to keep up this studio, and to the students, who see this place as home; the magic that runs through our walls is a direct reflection of YOU. Thank you for walking through our doors and transforming our space with your breath and your heart. ⁠

While we would love to pick up and move to a new space on the west side, we are still in a rebuilding phase after the pandemic and are not in a position to do that immediately. Instead, we will take the time to strengthen our roots at La Brea and Echo Park and then start the dreaming and scheming of our future west side home.⁠

We’ve been able to negotiate a bit of time in order to honor our community, our staff, and be able to – with as much grace and even celebration as possible – transition out of our beautiful home. ⁠

💙 Our last classes will be held on September 18th, 2023, honoring the end of this space on our 6th anniversary. 💙⁠

We are sure this brings up many questions and emotions. Emily & Alice will be at the studio over the next few days to hold space for all that is coming up. For anything memberships related, check out some FAQs. ⁠

We hope you can come to the studio to reminisce, celebrate, mourn, grieve, laugh and cry as we sweat it out together over the next few months. Thank you for all you have given this space, we are who we are because of each of you.⁠
