A message from Venice Walking Tours’ Brandon Barney!

Ignite your competitive spirit with a Venice Beach Walking Tours VIP Venice Games Tour, tailored specifically for the participants of the inaugural Venice Beach Games Saturday July 29, 2023. As an electrifying warm-up to the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics, we delve into Venice Beach’s athletic legacy, and shine a spotlight on the heroes who’ve turned this beach town and the city of Los Angeles into a global sporting Mecca.

Venice Beach Walking Tours provides an insider’s look at the legends who’ve left their mark on the Venice Beach sports scene. From global stars to local legends, we’ve followed them all, offering an exclusive look into the past, present, and future of Venice Beach’s diverse sports culture.

We have customized a special tour to immerse you in the pulse of Venice Beach’s athletic heritage. We’ve been the go-to guides for teams from prestigious universities, introducing them to the unique energy that fuels the Venice Beach sporting community.

Our tours have been acclaimed by renowned media outlets, including The New York Times, and French and Latin American television, for our authentic and original approach to sharing the Venice Beach experience.

From leading the Mayor of LA to shepherding the movers and shakers of Silicon Valley, we’ve shared the sweeping sporting saga of Venice Beach.

We start our journey on the iconic Venice Basketball Courts, where legends like Eugene Wright, Dru Turner, Mani Love, Ryan Carter, Malik Preatto, Chris Staples, Kermit Pemberton, Julien Ducree, and TikTok sensation Emeka Uzomba perfected their game.

We’ll then move on to the Venice Beach skate parks, home ground of the “Dogtown” skateboarders like Pat Ngoho, Tony Alva, Jay Adams, Stacey Peralta, Jeff Ho, Craig Stecyk, and Peggy Oki. Their legacy lives on in young sensations like Yuto Horigame and Sky from Miyazaki, Japan, the world’s youngest pro skater.

Our next stop is the world famous Muscle Beach gym, the birthplace of modern bodybuilding, where the likes of Jack LaLanne, Steve Reeves, and the iconic Arnold Schwarzenegger carved their statuesque figures.

And next we will visit the Venice Beach pier where we cannot overlook the surfers, including George Freeth, Duke Kahanamoku, Sally Field, Sandra Dee, and Kathy Kohner, who’ve etched their names into the local surf culture.

An exciting addition to our tour is the flourishing scene of skate dancing, a mesmerizing mix of athleticism and grace that has its roots in Venice Beach. We’ll introduce you to the skate dancing stars who’ve been lighting up the Venice Beach boardwalk: Mad, aka James Lightning, Jeffrey Young, Terrell Ferguson, Kyle Johnson, Larry Pitts, Dee Upshaw, and James Adkins. Their rhythm, creativity, and skill have made skate dancing a standout feature of Venice Beach’s sporting scene.

With the anticipation of the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics on the horizon, Venice Beach Walking Tours is ready to lead the Venice Games community on an unforgettable journey through the annals of Venice Beach’s athletic history. Are you ready to delve into the legends’ playground? Let’s get the ball rolling!
