It was a kick ass day of rolling at the 2nd Annual Rey Diogo In House Tournament. Over 40 competitors from the 6 affiliated associations stepped onto the mats to showcase their skills for a packed house of enthusiastic spectators. And blue belt Edizen (co-founder of Venice Paparazzi) was on the scene to document it all.

About Rey Diogo:
Ricardo Diogo, also known as “REY” DIOGO was one of the first Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu team representatives to come to the United States where he established his own academy based on his master’s teachings. Ever since he landed in the U.S. (1996), Rey Diogo quickly became one of the top Jiu Jitsu instructors in the country, forming several high level black belts.

Here is a message from Conejo Valley Brazilian Jiu Jitsu’s co-owner and 3 degree black belt Emerson Vidor.
We were very happy to host the 2nd Annual Rey Diogo In-house tournament at our new location in Westlake Village. In-house tournaments are always more intense then other local tournaments, because of the close proximity of all the spectators and the obvious friendly yet fierce rivalries from all the affiliate academies. With 6 schools competing, this tournament absolutely lived up to that expectation. It was great to see old teammates and meet a lot of new ones, and every competitor came prepared and ready for action.
This tournament was also the perfect way to host a grand opening event for our new location, and we couldn’t be happier with the turnout and the camaraderie created this weekend. And of course, keeping the first place team trophy under our roof was a nice little bonus. We would like to thank all the competitors who came out to represent their academy, all the spectators who came out to support, and all those who helped make this event go so smoothly. And of course, none of this could be possible without the tutelage and support of Rey Diogo. Thank you Professor. We definitely look forward to hosting another tournament in the near future.
