We’re thrilled to be hosting our long-awaited annual Hands Across the Sand event coordinated by SFLA to promote a clean energy future this Saturday, May 21st! Be sure to register below if you plan to join us.

Event Details:
#1: OCEAN FRIENDLY GARDEN TOUR OF WESTWOOD GREENWAY
- Location: Local Ocean Friendly Garden – The Westwood Neighborhood Greenway (2598-2596 Westwood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064)
- Timing: 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
- Description: We’ll meet at the Westwood Neighborhood Greenway at 9:30 AM SHARP, located at the intersection of Westwood Blvd. x Exposition. We will take a walking tour around the Greenway.
- Then, you will either ride your bike along the designated bike path to the Ink Well / Bay Street beach located at 2030 Ocean Ave Santa Monica, CA 90405, or take the Metro E line. Surfrider volunteers will lead the way the entire time so no need to worry about losing the group!
STOP #2: JOIN HANDS WITH SURFRIDER LA ACTIVISTS TO PROTEST FOSSIL FUELS AT THE INKWELL BEACH
- Location: Ink Well / Bay Street Beach 2030 Ocean Ave Santa Monica, CA 90405
- Timing: 12:00PM-12:30PM
- Description: We will link arms and make a large hand chain at the Ink Well Beach and take drone imagery and video to capture the moment and stand in solidarity with folks around the globe. Check out past footage here.
STOP #3: BEACH CLEANUP AT THE INKWELL BEACH
- Location: Ink Well / Bay Street Beach 2030 Ocean Ave Santa Monica, CA 90405
- Timing: 12:30PM-1:30PM
- Description: Close the day by joining fellow activists and friends as we leave our coastline cleaner than when we found it! Equipment (gloves, bags, and grabbers) are provided, but we encourage you to bring your own supplies if you have them.
THINGS TO BRING:
1. Bike, bike lock, helmet and other saftey gear
2. Comfortable clothing suited for physical activity
2. Reusable water bottle
3. Hat
4. Sunscreen
7. Snacks (Light food and beverages will be provided at the beach around 12:00PM but we encourage you to bring what you need to sustain yourself!)
