Help us draw the Ukrainian flag on the Venice Pier this weekend!
A message from Venice resident Nisa Kove!
When I feel helpless in times of crisis, tragedy and social inequities, I find peace in community building and making a statement through public art.
.
The suffering of the Ukrainian people is heartbreaking. Creating the Ukrainian flag with sidewalk chalk and coming together as a community will be a symbol of our solidarity with the Ukrainian people and creates a space to mourn.
.
We will have hundreds of pieces of blue and yellow sidewalk chalk available for attendees to create the Ukrainian flag at the end of the Venice Pier. Please bring a sunflower, as this flower has become a symbol of Ukrainian unity and peace.
.
We ask that participants make any size donation to an organization providing support to Ukraine. We will have the list you see here with us this weekend if you prefer to donate the day of the event.
.
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend.
