CHICAS TACOS PARTNERS WITH LEGENDARY BOYLE HEIGHTS TAMALE MAKER THIS HOLIDAY SEASON, DONATING TOYS TO THE CHILDREN OF VENICE COMMUNITY HOUSING!

Chicas Tacos, the award-winning Mexican fast casual concept and home to “A Better Taco,” has teamed up with legendary Boyle Heights tamale maker Angeles Lopez and James Beard Award-Winning Chef Eduardo Ruiz in the Toys for Tamales Toy Drive, benefitting Venice Community Housing Corporation.

From Saturday, November 27th until Saturday, December 11th, Angelenos can bring an unwrapped toy or $10 gift card to all four Chicas Tacos locations and get two holiday Tamales.  Chicas Tacos is also collaborating with Revolution Carts, the first sidewalk compliant tamale vending cart,  to bring this project together.

Tamale maker Angeles Lopez and her mother have been making traditional holiday tamales on the corner of Olympic and Orme Ave in Boyle Heights for 12 years. Chicas Executive Chef  Eduardo Ruiz met Lopez a few years back and wanted to showcase her culinary talents this holiday season. With Chicas Tacos newest location at Whole Foods Venice (opened on May 5, 2021) the team at Chicas wanted to continue supporting hyper local charities, this time choosing Venice Community Housing Corporation.

Saturday, November 27 from 2 to 5 pm at Chicas Beverly Grove: 8312 W 3rd St., Los Angeles Saturday,

Saturday, December 4 from 2 to 5 pm at Chicas Culver City: 9343 Culver Blvd, Culver City Saturday,

Saturday, December 11, Finale Party from 2 to 5 pm, at Chicas Tacos All Season Brewing Co.: 800 S. La Brea Ave.

All toys gathered from the four events will be compiled and distributed to Venice Community Housing children (who will be on site to receive).  Eduardo Ruiz, and  Angeles Lopez will make signature Holiday Tamales with a healthy twist, live music, beer specials, holiday decor and photo booth.
