Game Day in Venice!
It was a day of recreation and elation on the beach in Venice. For the first time in about a year and a half , our beloved recreation area was open, clean, and jam packed with happy people playing sports.
Venice Paparazzi in conjunction with City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, Venice Beach Recreation Center, and L.A. City Council District 11 produced the First Annual Venice Beach Summer Sports Day on Sat., Aug. 21, 2021.
The newly cleaned and upgraded Venice Beach Recreation Center hosted a full day of free sporting activities, games, contests, clinics, demos, and more including: Skateboarding, Roller Skating, Handball, Soccer, Basketball, Calisthenics, Paddle Tennis, Pickle Ball, Kids Arts and Crafts, Boardwalk Fun Run, Beach Volleyball, Fitness Classes, Hula Hooping, Food Trucks, Resource Fair, community and beach cleanups, A Venice Paparazzi Photo Booth, and more!
A Team Effort!
First off, a huge fist bump, to all the fine folks involved, starting with the super rad sports group organizers:

Next we would like to thank L.A. City Council District 11 and Mike Bonin for sponsoring the event, and the team at City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, and Venice Beach Recreation Center for and hosting the event. As well, Tristen Marler from CD11, and Sonya Young Jimenez and Melody Valenzuela from Department of Recreation and Parks, were super responsive and easy to work with during the planning stages, making the collaboration an efficient process. And it was cool to have Dept. of Recreation and Park’s General Manager Mike Shull come out and speak. Thank you all!

We Captured the Event!
A big high five to Hotel Erwin, General Real Estate, and Belles for sponsoring the Venice Beach Sports Day event photos, photo booth, video, and drone! Due to your support, event participants got a super fun, green screen. take home print, and we got some epic imagery, covering the full scope of the event.
