Here is a message from Venice Oceanarium!
Did you know that just steps from the world-famous Venice Boardwalk, ecosystems teem with wildlife? Want to explore fascinating tide pools? Rare wetlands? Watch the elusive grunion spawn? (No, they’re not an urban legend!) The Venice Oceanarium is looking for volunteers who share their passion for the ocean to join their team. Learn more and sign up.
Like so many organizations, COVID-19 forced the Oceanarium to scale way back on its programming. But, undeterred, it utilized the downtime to brainstorm a full schedule of interactive events. “We’re delighted to be back on the Venice Pier soon and launch our new and exciting activities!” says Tim Rundnick, founder of the Venice Oceanarium. “We can’t wait to share our local treasures with even more Angelenos and visitors than pre-pandemic, whether in-person or virtually.”

The Venice Oceanarium – A Museum Without Walls is a non-profit based in Venice Beach, California. Since 1995, their programs which integrate science with the arts, have inspired kids (of all ages) to appreciate the environment and become stewards of our precious oceans. These include the weekly marine biology pop-up labs on the Venice Pier, afterschool programs, Moby-Dick reading, popular grunion party, oceanography expeditions and more.
