A message from the Venice Neighborhood Council!
Dear Venetians,
The 2021 VNC Elections ARE Officially Underway!
,
Every two years, Venice Stakeholders have the opportunity to decide who represents their Community by electing the 21 Board Members that comprise the Venice Neighborhood Council. If you are 16 years of age and live, work, or own property within the Venice NC boundaries, you will soon be able to cast your vote (by mail) between May 10th and June 8th.
,
But before any votes are cast, we need to assemble a collection of dedicated community advocates who want to represent our diversity. Work with other community members to make a difference and give a voice to neighborhood concerns. Connect with City Hall and have a say in City budgets and decisions about your neighborhood.
,
You can be that Candidate by signing up to run for one of the Board Positions right now! Go to https://www.venicenc.org/elections-2021.php and follow the 5 easy steps. The filing period ends on March 23rd.
,
You can choose to run for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Communications Officer, Community Outreach Officer, Land Use and Planning Committee Chair… or one of the 13 At-Large Community Officer seats.
,
And there is also a seat reserved specifically for a Community Interest Stakeholder:
a person who does NOT live, works, or own real property in the area, but affirms substantial and ongoing participation within the Neighborhood Council’s boundaries and who may be in a community organization such as, but not limited to, educational, non-profit, and/or religious organizations.
