______________

As the number of sidewalk campers/homeless encampments in Venice, and all over Los Angeles swells, many folks are wondering what the hell is going on.  How did we get here?

Venice Canals’ bridge at Venice Blvd.and Strongs Ave.

A few of questions dominating the conversation are:

  • Since when can you camp on the sidewalk with impunity?
  • Why are there so many new homeless people?   What is going on in society to fuel this?
  • What are the elected officials, and bureaucrats, doing about it?
  • What can we do about it?
