Well, this is probably the least fun post I have had to write.
Greetings readers, Alex here with some bad news. Longtime community members, fitness pioneers, great neighbors, and super cool folks, YAS are closing up shop. Founded by Kimberly Fowler on Abbot Kinney in 2001, YAS was the first to marry yoga and spinning under one roof. Their no nonsense approach to yoga was a flow that catered to the athletes looking to enhance performance. They then matched this with vigorous indoor cycling classes, creating a place one could go for a deep sweat and fantastic stretch. The innovative approach was wildly popular. And eventually YAS expanded to Portland, Oregon, Downtown L.A., Silverlake, and Costa Mesa. But YAS was more than a gym, or workout, YAS was a community! Their teachers were caring and interested, and their clients vibrant and eager. YASers trained together, ate together, partied together, fund raised together, and more. The relationships that were born out of the YAS studio’s have enriched the lives of countless people, and will no doubt last forever. Venice Paparazzi and YAS have been partners for years, and VP has been documenting YAS for the better part of decade. Here are links to the many galleries we have shot at YAS!
