The Venice Beach Bar LIVE has returned music to the world famous Venice Beach Boardwalk with a mighty fire – celebrating what would have been the 73rd birthday of Jim Morrison, frontman of The Doors and voice of a generation.
An “All-Day, All-Doors” event taking place December 8, 2016, will be capped off by Peace Frog, the band CBS called “The premiere Doors tribute band.” Peace Frog’s salute to the immortal “Lizard King” and The Doors has spanned almost 2 decades, performing worldwide with lead singer Tony Fernandez who truly personifies Jim Morrison on stage. He delivers a powerful re-creation of Morrison’s likeness, presence, vocals, mannerisms and spirit. Tony remarked on the day and the venue, “The Venice Beach Bar building owner was responsible for getting this spot designated a historical landmark by the city of Los Angeles due to its cultural significance to the area. Peace Frog is honored to perform at the same place Jim Morrison hung out and wrote poetry, on what would have been his 73rd birthday. Our great American poet Jim Morrison still lives in our hearts and minds.”
“Given the history of our building and the fact that Jim was a frequent visitor, we feel it’s only right to salute the man who many consider the musical patron saint of Venice Beach,” Jim Adelstein, the building owner stated. “Since we are the only live music venue on the boardwalk, where better to keep his music, his poetry and his spirit alive? We are grateful Peace Frog will help us pay tribute to the late, great Jim Morrison and the music of The Doors”
