“The second annual OFF THE HOOK Seafood Festival was a hit this past weekend! The celebration, benefiting Westside Food Bank, kicked off at 3 p.m. on Saturday on the Santa Monica Pier. Black Crystal Wolf Kids was the first band on-stage, and got attendees dancing to today’s hits, followed by the resident OTH mermaid!

Attendees were treated to a selection of top-notch seafood, such as ahi tuna tacos from Del Frisco’s Grille, lobster corn dogs from The Lobster, sushi from Sushi Roku and more. Shock Top’s Belgian White brew, La Croix, Boxed Water and White Claw Seltzer were helping guests beat the heat throughout the festival.

In the Sustainable VIP Lounge, Red O served up their famous ahi tuna tostadas. Additionally, FIG Santa Monica served grilled oysters while Mare Santa Monica served baby octopus served on a bite-sized chickpea pancake. Chef Greg’s ceviche from Ashland Hill was fresh and flavorful, and paired perfectly the Piper-Heidsieck champagne and Infused Spirits’ crafted cocktails.

After the vivacious oyster shucking competition, local Venice Beach band Brightside played their blend of reggae rock and closed out the event. Salt & Straw was the perfect sweet treat to accompany a delicious variety of tastes at OFF THE HOOK. For more info, visit offthehookseafoodfest.com.
