The Venice Chamber of Commerce, along with Los Angeles City Councilman Mike Bonin of District 11, will commemorate the historic return of the Los Angeles Rams by lighting the historic Venice Sign Rams blue and gold.
Windward Avenue from Main Street to Pacific Avenue will be closed beginning at 5 pm for fans of all ages to enjoy a fun zone of passing, kicking, and obstacle courses as well as other exciting displays to welcome back LA’s first professional sports team. There will be a selection of LA’s finest food trucks ready to serve up a snack.
LA-themed live entertainment by local music artists will begin around 6:00 pm and will culminate at 7:45 with a ceremony to light the Venice Sign hosted by Councilman Bonin and Rams GM Kevin Demoff.
Local celebrities, Rams “legend” players, the Rams cheerleaders and mascot, Rampage, will join the hosts in pulling the switch to light the historic Venice Sign in Rams colors!

About the Venice Sign: The legendary Abbot Kinney introduced the world to Venice in 1905 on the 4th of July. Spanning across Windward Avenue at Pacific (then Trolley Way), 3-foot high letters spelling VENICE glowed to electric life!
In 2007, the Venice Sign Restoration Project recreated and installed the contemporary version of this historic sign. Since that time the Venice Chamber has been responsible for the Sign and for protecting its trademark. View photos of the the June 24, 2007 Venice Fest (the lighting of the restored Venice Sign for the first time.)
Today this lasting legacy is restored across Windward Avenue as a tribute to the celebrated Venice of years past and modern day gateway to the world famous Venice Beach.
