Venetians! Our great Westside Councilman Bill Rosendahl is dying. He is at his house, among friends and will be leaving this world shortly. We are terribly sad! 🙁 To Bill, Your infectious positive energy, and embracing of Venice Paparazzi is endeared in our hearts forever! We love you! Thank you!

Bill Rosendahl served on the Los Angeles City Council, representing Council District 11 from 2005 to 2013. Rosendahl was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and announced he would not be seeking reelection. His chief of staff at the time, Mike Bonin, won the election and is currently serving the 11th district.

Here is a message from our current 11th District Council member Mike Bonin.
“With a very heavy heart, I must report that Bill is gravely ill. After several hospital visits and a brief stay in a convalescent home, Bill returned to his Mar Vista home last week, where he is receiving round-the-clock hospice care.
His medical team and his family both feel that he is in his twilight days, and his transition from this world to the next has begun. He is comfortable and happy, surrounded by family and friends, at home in the house he adores, with the sounds of his chickens and the fresh breeze he loves so much.
If you are close to Bill and have not visited him yet and wish to do so, his family welcomes you to do so. He has always drawn great strength from the spirit of others. Sit with him. Tell him stories. Hold his hand. Although he is quite tired and has a hard time communicating, he is very appreciative of visitors. He often acknowledges his guests with a gentle smile, a distinct look of recognition, and sometimes a few hoarse words.
The family asks that all visits take place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and that there be no more than four visitors at a time. If you are unable to see him, feel free to post a message here and I will read it to him.
Bill has given so much throughout his lifetime to everyone he has touched. It is time for us to shine that love back at him.
