From LAX:
Take Sepulveda North to Lincoln.
Stay close to your left lane, because you might miss this turn. 0.5 miles
Take Lincoln north to Venice Blvd. 4.7 miles
Turn left onto Venice Blvd. 1.2 miles to Venice Beach
From Downtown L.A.
Take the I-10 Santa Monica Freeway west 13 miles
Exit at 4th/5th Street exit
Stay in the left lane of the exit
Turn left onto 4th St.
Take 4th St. three blocks to Pico 0.3 miles
Turn right on Pico
Take Pico to Ocean. 0.2 miles
Turn left on Ocean. Ocean eventually turns into Nielson Way 0.9 miles
Nielson then turns into Pacific Ave.
Continue driving straight (South) on Pacific Ave. Once you past Rose Ave. start looking
for parking. You are two blocks east from the Venice Beach Boardwalk.
From Santa Monica Pier
Go south on Ocean Ave 0.4 miles
Ocean becomes Nielsen at Pico Blvd.
Continue going south on Nielsen 0.9 miles
Nielsen becomes Pacific. Keep going south till you past Rose Ave. I suggest
you start looking for parking once you past this street because you are two blocks
east of the Venice Beach Boardwalk.
CITY BUSES:
Metro buses run from a number of locations in L.A. to Venice Beach via the following routes:
#1 Culver City Bus Lines – West on Washington Blvd., North on Pacific to Windward Ave. and Main St.
# 2 Santa Monica BIG BLUE BUS – south on Pacific to Windward Ave.
#3 3 or 333 METRO BUS – Downtown L.A. from Sprint & 6th to Main St. & Grand Ave.

There are also private parking lots near the beach near Windward Ave. These private lots can cost
anywhere between $5-$15 per day. Parking on the beach fills up quickly, so start your day early.
PARKING TIP
Parking can be very expensive in Venice. Expect to pay as much as $15-20 for parking during the
summer months. $2-5 during the winter months. COME EARLY TO FIND STREET PARKING
HOW TO AVOID PARKING TICKETS IN VENICE
-Avoid parking in front of red painted curbs
-Stay on your meters. The parking attendees are on it.
-Read the signs. Check for street cleaning.

TAXIS:
It is advised to ask the taxi driver for a mutually agreed fare price for the route you wish to take prior to boarding the vehicle. Always ensure the meter is running before the trip begins. Try United Independent Taxi company. Several vehicles are usually parked and at the ready on Windward Ave between Speedway and Pacific Ave. Their main telephone numbers are: 323 653 5050 and 800 822 TAXI.
BUSES & BUS MAPS:
The central area in Venice from which many buses depart is on Windward Ave, on the beach side of Windward Circle and on the corner of Main Street and Venice Way, on the south side of Windward Circle. Windward Circle is the Turnaround located on Windward Ave, just south of Pacific Ave. If you are needing to use the buses frequently, it is recommended that you pick up the brochures that contain timetables and bus routes. They are available on all buses.
1) Big Blue Bus: www.bigbluebus.com. A local bus service. A great way of getting clear overview maps of all of the big blue bus services, pick up the brochure on board entitled ‘System Map’. For the most convenience, go to Venice Library, buy yourself a pre-paid bus card, load an amount of credit that suits your needs and simply insert into the bus ticket machine as you board. Otherwise, you will need to prepare exact change fares. The ticket machines do not give change
2) Green Culver City Buses: www.culvercitybus.com. A local bus service. You will need to provide exact change since the ticket machines do not give change.
3) Metro Buses: Buses that run from Venice to other ‘cities’ within Los Angeles. Detailed information and a trip planning service can be found on www.metro.net. Tap cards are pre-paid, re-usable metro bus cards. You can buy them online for $2.00 or at more than half of Metro’s pass outlets around the county.
