Main Street Santa Monica is an eclectic collection of restaurants, boutiques, cafe’s, salons, gift and home decor stores. Stretching for about a mile from Pico south to the Santa Monica border, Main Street is a charming neighborhood district – not the Mall!
PARKING: There are two large public parking lots, a few small public parking lots, over 350 metered parking spaces on the street, and several private lots on or next to Main Street. There is a small public lot off Strand, between Main and Neilsen Way and another off Norman Place, near the Library. Meters are a dollar an hour. Find parking with ParkMe! EVENTS:
- Every Tuesday is Santa Monica Food truck event at the California Heritage Museum. 5:30-9:30 p.m.
- Every Sunday there is a Farmers’ Market . All Markets open rain-or-shine year ’round! 2640 Main St. 9:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
- June 22. Summer Soulstice. Live bands and street festival
- Annual Holiday Festival. (First weekend in Dec.) This weekend event includes a tree lighting, meet Santa, candlelit walk to Edgemar, a window holiday decoration Contest, and Sidewalk Sale.
SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES:
- Go watch some live music at O’Briens, they have bands seven nights a week.
- Get some pizza at Wildfour Pizza. They are a legend among locals!
- Grab a workout at 22o fitness or Cross Fit Santa Monica.
- Go to the Library and read a book, for heavens sake! 🙂
- Drink a fresh squeezed vegetable juice from One Life grocery store.
- Go dancing at Bar Copa or The Circle Bar.
- Drink a pint at the Library Ale house or Joe’s bar.
- Take a photo with the The Ballerina Clown sculpture on the corner of Main Street and Rose Ave. The Ballerina Clown was designed by Santa Monica architect Johannes Van Tilburg
