The Venice Chamber of Commerce Education Committee hosts two events this year to honor and recognize Venice teachers!
About the Education Committee- Connecting Community, Education, and Business: The Education Committee seeks to be our community’s forum for education, and the bridge between local businesses and educators. Its primary goal is to foster a high-quality education and dynamic learning environments for the children of Venice, thereby helping to fulfill Abbot Kinney’s original vision for Venice as a Mecca for culture, the arts, and education. The committee’s secondary goal is to encourage local children of all backgrounds and socio-economic levels to be educated together. In June 2011, the Venice Chamber established the inaugural WaVe Awards honoring local teachers, selected by their peers, who creatively engage their students and contribute to the vitality of our community. vcceducationcommittee.org

Event two: May 9th, 2013 WAVE Awards for Teaching Excellence.
The Venice Chamber of Commerce Education Committee is currently looking for sponsors for the annual 2013 WAVE Awards for Teaching Excellence. This prestigious award is given to one teacher at each participating local school for their outstanding achievements in the classroom and beyond. This year’s theme is “Nurturing Minds From The Ground Up”. Teachers are nominated by their peers and a ceremony honoring these special teachers will be held at The Rose Cafe on May 9th, 2012 at 6pm.
As a quintessential Venice business we would like to invite you to participate in this fabulous event. There are several ways you and your business can join. In the coming weeks you will receive an electronic invitation to buy tickets to the WAVE Awards. We would also like to invite you to become an event sponsor.
