3. Where are you from originally? I grew up in South Dakota, then spent 12 years in Minneapolis, MN before I moved here.
4. How are you involved in Venice Paparazzi? Contributing Photographer.
b. What do you do outside of Venice Paparazzi? I am a freelance photographer offering a multitude of services. I shoot portraits, headshots, weddings, events, sports, architecture & landscapes. I am also a photography instructor. Through 'Kirstography Excursions' I offer private camera lessons and group photographic excursions. All the instruction I give is hands on. I teach people how to use their own cameras during personalized sessions. Then I take people out in small groups to let them practice what they have learned. We go all over Los Angeles for day and night excursions.

5. What organizations or causes do you support? Heal The Bay is one group in particular. We live on this great big beautiful bay. I strive to keep it beautiful & getting healthier.
6. How do you stay motivated? What' keeps you going? I walk along the shore, bike along the strand and stroll along the Boardwalk. This area that is now my home is SO FULL of energy. Whether it be from nature or people, that energy & the excitement it brings keeps me going.
7. Who inspires you? My lifelong friend, Larissa Fasthorse. She has always danced to her own drummer and made it work!
8. Define success? Success is making a living out of doing what you love.
9. What's one thing you would change about the world and how would you do it? Less dependence on oil through better bi-pedal locomotion. I love riding my bike to my work locations or to do errands. However, there are not enough safe, well lit bike paths. The paths along the beach are great for recreation, but getting to jobs & stores can be a dangerous venture.
10. What's your favorite drink? Vodka Tonic with a squeeze of lime Stella

1. Describe Venice in less than 5 words. Solace By The Sea
2. Since you've been in Venice for 4 years, can you finish off this statement. "I remember when... there was no lottery system & I had to get out on the boardwalk at 7:00 am to try to get a spot to vend. I kinda miss that.
3. Describe a perfect day in Venice, (Include favorite activites, best happy hours, nightlife , etc.) Get up really early. Take my coffee & yogurt breakfast out the the shore so I can enjoy the dolphins playing. Walk the shore & boardwalk to photograph everything that interests me. Catch some boardwalk performances and activities. Grab a quick lunch at El Tarasco or Lydia's Pupusaria. Walk the Canals. Take a bike ride with my friends & then catch happy hour at Danny's Deli, The Waterfront or Nikki's. Catch the sunset, while listening to the drums.
4. Anything else you would like to share with the world and neighbors? Venice is a great place to live, love and create yourself. So, keep Venice clean, safe & real. Keep the creative energy flowing. Buy locally made products. Encourage locally owned businesses. Support local entrepreneurs & artists.
